Transfer Nice to Cap Ferrat
A discreet peninsula reaching into the Mediterranean between Villefranche and Beaulieu, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is the most exclusive address on the French Riviera. Behind tall hedges and wrought-iron gates lie some of the world’s most storied villas — homes once owned by King Leopold II of Belgium, Somerset Maugham, David Niven, and the Rothschild dynasty. The tiny fishing port has stayed remarkably authentic, while the cape itself remains a sanctuary of pine forests, secret coves, and the legendary Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild with its nine themed gardens overlooking two bays. Our private transfer brings you from Nice Airport directly to Cap Ferrat in just 30 minutes — through the dramatic Basse Corniche to one of the most quietly magical places in the Mediterranean.

The Journey: Nice to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat
The drive from Nice to Cap Ferrat follows the Basse Corniche, hugging the coastline through Villefranche-sur-Mer before turning onto the peninsula itself. As you cross the narrow neck connecting the cape to the mainland, the Mediterranean opens up on both sides — Villefranche bay to the west, Beaulieu and the Italian coast to the east.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes from Nice Airport and 22 minutes from Nice city centre. Cap Ferrat is divided between three areas: the small fishing village of Saint-Jean on the eastern shore, the residential heart of the cape with its private villas, and the western Pointe Saint-Hospice looking towards Villefranche. Our drivers know each address by heart — many of our regular clients return to the same villa season after season.
Cap Ferrat is unique among French Riviera destinations: there are no large hotels at all (with the exception of the legendary Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat), no tourist coaches, no day-trippers in any real numbers. It’s a place that has chosen privacy over visibility — and we deliver our guests with the same understated discretion the cape demands.

What to See on Cap Ferrat
🏛️ Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild
Built between 1907 and 1912 by Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild as a tribute to the Italian Renaissance, this rose-pink palazzo is the cape’s masterpiece. Inside: rare tapestries, Sèvres porcelain, and Marie-Antoinette’s furniture. Outside: nine themed gardens — French, Spanish, Florentine, Stone, Japanese, Exotic, Rosary, Provençal, and the Garden of Sèvres — surrounding the villa on a narrow ridge between two bays. A Riviera essential.
🚶 Sentier du Littoral (Coastal Path)
An 11-kilometre coastal walking path circles the entire peninsula, alternating between pine forests, cliff edges, and hidden coves. The eastern section from Saint-Jean to Pointe Saint-Hospice is the most photogenic — past the Chapel of Saint-Hospice and the lighthouse, with views all the way to Italy on a clear day. Allow 3 hours for the full circuit.
⛵ Port de Saint-Jean
The fishing harbour on the eastern shore is the social heart of the cape — small enough to feel intimate, big enough to host superyachts during summer. The waterfront restaurants (Le Sloop, La Goëlette, Capitaine Cook) serve fresh fish at the long terrace tables, where the easy mix of yacht crews, Riviera locals, and visiting royalty has not changed in generations.
🏖️ Plage de Passable & Plage de Paloma
Two of the most beautiful beaches on the Riviera, both on Cap Ferrat. Plage de Passable faces Villefranche bay with sweeping views of the entire coast — ideal for sunset. Plage de Paloma, on the eastern side, is smaller and more discreet, beloved for its turquoise water and the famous Paloma Beach restaurant — a Riviera institution since the 1950s.
🕊️ Chapelle Saint-Hospice & Bronze Madonna
At the cape’s eastern tip stands a 17th-century chapel and beside it, an 11-metre bronze statue of the Virgin Mary erected in 1903 — visible from passing ships and a landmark for sailors entering the bay of Villefranche. The walk here through pine groves is one of the most peaceful experiences on the Riviera, with views over the entire eastern coast.
🏨 Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat
The only true grand hotel on the cape, occupying seven hectares at the southern tip. Built in 1908, it has hosted everyone from Charlie Chaplin to Winston Churchill, and remains a symbol of Riviera elegance. Even non-guests can dine at the Club Dauphin, the famous saltwater pool restaurant cantilevered over the sea — a true bucket-list lunch on the Mediterranean.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the driver take me directly to a private villa?
Yes — that’s our specialty on Cap Ferrat. We work with many of the cape’s villa estates and yacht charters, and our chauffeurs are familiar with private gates, security protocols, and discreet drop-off arrangements. Share the address (and any access codes) when booking, and we coordinate everything in advance.
I’m arriving by yacht — can you transfer me from the port?
Absolutely. Saint-Jean has a small port that hosts vessels up to 35 metres (larger yachts anchor in Villefranche bay just a few minutes away). We coordinate with your captain or concierge for the exact timing and meeting point — quayside, security gate, or marina office.
Is Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild open to visitors?
Yes, the villa and gardens are open to the public year-round (closed only on a few public holidays). Entry is approximately €18 for adults, with discounts for groups and combined tickets. Our drivers can drop you at the entrance and wait — most visitors spend 90 minutes to 2 hours exploring the gardens and interior.
What’s the best time of year to visit Cap Ferrat?
Spring (April-June) is unbeatable — gardens in full bloom, mild temperatures, fewer visitors. Summer is busy but still elegant; July and August are peak villa-rental season. September and October are the secret months: warm enough for the sea, golden light, and the Riviera at its most relaxed.
Can I combine Cap Ferrat with other destinations?
Yes — Cap Ferrat is perfectly placed between Villefranche (5 minutes), Beaulieu-sur-Mer (5 minutes), Èze (15 minutes), and Monaco (20 minutes). Our most popular full-day Riviera tour includes Villa Ephrussi, lunch at Paloma Beach or Club Dauphin, and a sunset stop in Èze or Monaco.
